The integration, which has been requested by Swiss-based packaging manufacturer Model Group, will streamline the company's multi-site operations into a unified database.
"The challenge for us is to coordinate the existing multiple hardware and software capabilities in our production departments," said Edoardo Finotti, leader of the Model Group Innovation and Competence Centre (ICC).
The involved parties have set up a bi-directional online interface between SAP's ERP software and EskoArtwork's ArtiosCAD, which will result in SAP directly managing all data, including Meta data.
Once the project is complete, operators from all plants and departments of Model Group will retrieve their CAD data directly from the ordering process system.
Dinesh Chandra, director of EskoArtwork's Systems Integration unit, said: "This ERP integration is a world premiere."
Meanwhile, EskoArtwork also announced the completion of its acquisition of Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering, which was proposed in June.
