|-$?tware has posted complete PDF virus protection information on its website after being warned about a virus that uses PDF as a vehicle to transport itself.
"It is quite a complicated process to become infected by the virus, and therefore the risk is relatively small," said David Van Driessche, Enfocus director of software development.
Van Driessche said that using the programme would automatically remove all attached files within a PDF document, preventing the transfer of a virus.
Although PDF is particularly safe from viruses, Van Driessche said Adobe Acrobat did allow attachments to PDFs, which could permit a virus to be transmitted.
PDF users can access the PitStop Action List through the Enfocus website at www.enfocus.com/support.htm.
