The South Godstone, Surrey business, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, has refocused in recent years, concentrating on web-to-print (W2P).
However, it said the change has meant that more customers are now expecting work on short turnaround.
Managing director Vince Hogg said: "We were sending £1,200 to £1,500 worth of lamination out a month and those jobs were taking around a day to turn around. They also involved a £55 minimum fee. We had to book the work with the finisher and then plan the work around their collection time."
"Now we can do these jobs inhouse and our sales team can offer lamination on more work. It is a value added option that customers like. We can now do 95% of our finishing in-house. We are particularly keen to develop our unique offering of B2B online ordering for litho printed business cards to include lamination at competitive levels to other digital offerings."
Last year, the company installed a Heidelberg SpeedMaster 52 with Anicolor inking technology that has helped the operation increase the flexibility of the print it can deliver.
Turnover has increased by 50% in two years to £1.24m from £820,000.
Hogg adds: "We have just installed a new MIS and automated much of our online ordering through a W2P service opening up lots of opportunities. For us, the success has been in being able to offer existing clients short-run work that they were going elsewhere for."
