It also completed its acquisition of Printcafe last Tuesday (21 October). It has taken on 300 Printcafe staff, although around 10% of its workforce have been made redundant.
Chief executive Marc Olins remains in charge of the Printcafe product range, which will be absorbed within EFI and not run as a separate division. Printcafes vice president of marketing, Andy Schaer, has taken on a global field marketing role for the entire EFI product line. But Printcafe chief financial officer Joseph Whang will leave by the end of this year.
The position of Printcafes European management hadnt been finalised as PrintWeek went to press. Printcafe Europe will come under the remit of EFI Europe general manager Paul Cripps. Staff at Printcafe Europes Windsor offices will relocate to EFIs UK base (PrintWeek, 9 October). EFI also expects to complete the acquisition of T/R Systems on 3 November. Further acquisitions are on the agenda once the firm has digested Printcafe.
EFIs third-quarter results, which didnt include any contribution from Printcafe or T/R Systems, showed net income up 259% to 7.7m ($13m) on sales up 5% to 57.5m. The acquisitions will contribute about 5m to its fourth-quarter revenues, which will be 61.5m-63.2m.
