The Ultra 200A, which is priced at £33,995, incorporates an "auto gap" feature, which opens and closes impression rollers automatically at the start and end of the sheet, and aims to ensure that, when coating double-sided work, the rollers are clean and no varnish is transferred to the previously coated page.
Duplo UK managing director Tony Lock said: "With the majority of Duplo UV coater installs being for photobook applications, the necessity for perfectly coated Duplex sheets is critical. During the past 12 months we have seen an enormous growth in this market with an increase in the volume of sheets that require coating on both sides."
The company said it had already installed six of the new coaters at one of Europe’s largest photobook manufacturers.
The new coater, which is aimed at photobook manufacturers, is to be showcased at Duplo’s London Calling 3D event at the BFI IMAX, which runs from the 21-22 September.
The company will also be showcasing its new DC-745-e high-speed cutting/creasing line and the ESKO iXE-10 digital die-cutting solution at the event, which is jointly held by Duplo, Friedheim and Renz.
