The Bognor Regis, West Sussex-based company, which was established five years ago as a one-man operation by managing director Anthony Cleal, was using a handfeed desktop bookletmaker to produce books and brochures.
As the company grew, it began to take on longer-run work with an increasing number of jobs going out to trade finishers.
Cleal said: "It was fine for 150 small programmes for the local theatre, but run lengths were increasing and work was going out at about £100 a time. It got stupid just before Christmas when we had 10 1,000-run jobs come in together and £1,000 walked out the door. Our own bookletmaker was the answer to that."
Dragonfly installed the bookletmaker in May and the company, which now has five staff and a turnover of £250,000, is already reaping the benefits of the bookletmaker because it has been able to offer new services to its customers and increase its workload.
The company runs a Xerox Colour 6060, producing work from business cards and letterheads through to outdoor banners.
According to Cleal, its catchment area has been steadily increasing and it recently signed a deal with DHL in order to send work further afield, including London and Brighton.
