The US-headquartered group announced the planned break-up last summer.
CMCo, the $7bn (£4.9bn) turnover, 42,000-employee multi-channel marketing communications business, will retain the 150-year-old RR Donnelley name as RR Donnelley & Sons Company. This part of the company includes business process outsourcing, logistics, and variable printing including commercial and digital print.
The group’s $3.5bn turnover print management and supply chain solutions business, which had an interim name of PRSCo, will be called LSC Communications. The name derives from an RR Donnelley tradition dating back to 1903, which involves the firm producing ‘Lakeside Classics’ books as corporate gifts.
LSC Communications includes the printing of books, magazines and catalogues, inserts, and directories. It employs more than 20,000 people worldwide.
FINCo, the $1bn turnover financial communications specialist, will be renamed Donnelley Financial Solutions. It has more than 3,000 employees.
RR Donnelley aims to complete the reorganisation by the end of the year. It will file its 2015 results later this month.
Last month the firm announced a huge outsourcing deal with publisher Pearson, which will see RR Donnelley provide supply chain management solutions for all of Pearson’s learning materials in North America.
