The K-Series goes beyond part-personalisation into complete printing of documents and builds on the Cambridge-based firm's Domino On Demand system, which launched in 2003.
Two printers make up the new range. The flagship K200 has an angled 61mm print head and can print at a number of different settings from 91dpi to 300dpi at a running speed of up to 100m per minute. Additional heads can be linked together to increase the image area.
The K100 comes with an adjustable 71mm print head which allows you to maximise the resolution by changing the angle and running speed.
Domino is using print heads from US firm Spectra for the new printers, which come with the firm's Editor GT controller technology. This operates on a Windows XP platform and can network up to eight K200 or 16 K100 print heads.
Philip Easton, product director for the K-Series explained: "This is the second generation of drop-on-demand and a massive step forward on the first system. It gives customers a way of getting into digital printing by adding to what they've already got rather than replacing it."
