Dominion begins 500k spend with Agfa Jeti 3348

Dominion Screen & Digital Print has undertaken a 500,000 investment programme that includes the installation of an Agfa Jeti 3348 UV Jetspeed.

The Bradford-based business expects to take delivery of the machine in June – one of two new roll-to-roll printers it will install over the coming months.

The four-colour 300dpi Jeti features 48 Spectra printheads and comes just more than a year after Dominion installed a Inca Onset S20 UV flatbed printer as part of a £1m spend – a machine it described at the time as a "quantum leap" for the business.

According to sales director Linzi Gittings, the brace of new machines is indicative of the company "sticking to what it is good at".

She said: "We thought about diversifying and branching out, but other companies have attempted similar things without being successful.

"We’re good at what we do and we are sticking to that. These new investments show we're ready to meet the needs of our customers by spending on the latest technology."

According to Agfa, the Jeti 3348 UV can print on a variety of materials, such as fabric, canvas, vinyl, plastic film and paper. In production billboard mode, it can output "high-quality" images at speeds up to 232sqm at 300dpi.

Following its £1m spend last year, the 25-year-old company is now recording sales in excess of £5m and has posted record months in February and March.

"We've been hitting £600,000 in those two months while our margins are good too. We've invested well and responded to our customers' needs, so we're hoping this year continues as its started," Gittings added.
