The contract includes seven PCC 903 high-speed single copy gripper lines and 12 TS 800 stack/packaging lines, including high-speed stacker and overall control.
It compromises WNC v5 information systems for full control of the mailroom process, from folder to loading bay.
All four mailroom systems, which will be installed at facilities across India, will be in operation before the end of the year, the company said.
DMC is a joint venture between the Dainik Bhaskar Group, DB Corp (the group's printing arm in Mumbai) and the Zee Group.
M Venkataraman, chief operating officer of the DMC, said he had chosen the German brand for both technical and financial reasons.
"We did a detailed analysis of the various options available to us, taking into account technical, economic and other parameters," he said.
"IDAB Wamac was the best option on all counts. We are excited about forthcoming installations over the next 18 months."
Newstech (India) managing director Roy Alex noted the strong presence of IDAB Wamac in the Indian market.
He said: "There has been good local support available from IDAB Wamac, owing to their joint venture with our company for the manufacturing of entry-level mailroom systems in India since 2004."
