The businesses, Hollywood Signs and its sister company Monster Digital, have moved into a 2,790sqm facility in Tyseley. This has allowed the companies to form a 70-strong workforce and to operate under one roof.
According to Tim Andrews, managing director of Hollywood Monster, the merger was the "next logical step" to allow both printers to benefit from the economies of scale and efficiencies of moving into single premises.
He added: "Both businesses had expanded to achieve a combined turnover of £6m, so by combining the technology and skill sets of both businesses, operationally and commercially, our vision is to become the number one graphic business within the UK."
The newly merged operation is expected to help the company improve and diversify its service offering while expanding with an active recruitment programme.
In addition, Hollywood Monster is looking to update its machinery and add to an existing kit portfolio that includes a Nur Expedio Revolution, a Vutek QS3200 and a Nur Tempo.
Recent work taken on by the team, which is headed by four shareholding directors, Andy McKenzie, Simon McKenzie, John Andrews, and Tim Andrews, includes the appointment as main contractor of graphics work at Land Securities. The company's customer base also includes McDonald's and Virgin Media.
Andrews said: "As part of the merger, we have launched a new company brand and website, which all the team are very excited about.
"The coming together of the two brands and companies will bring us the synergy required to grow further in our industry. It's still early in the day but the plan now is to consolidate before expanding in the future."
