A raft of digital printer manufacturers are set to exhibit at a new online event for the textiles industry that kicks off later this week.

EFI Reggiani, Mimaki Europe and Polyprint are among the names that will be exhibiting at Innovate Textile & Apparel Virtual Trade Show from October 15 to 30. Organised by the World Textile Information Network (WTiN), the event has been designed with the aim to reconnect innovation in the value chain.

EFI Reggiani will show a range of digital and analogue printers and pre- and post-treatment lines as well as high-end textiles inks and eco-friendly denim dyeing technology.

The manufacturer said the core of its current technology development focuses on sustainability, under the theme 'Innovation in Green'.

“Sustainability, new online business opportunities and smart processes are the key advantages for the ‘new normal’ that we are addressing with the EFI Reggiani portfolio of solutions,” said EFI Reggiani vice president and general manager Adele Genoni.

“In textiles, the longstanding move towards more sustainable solutions that are also productive and efficient has quickened because of Covid-19, accelerating the adoption of digital technologies.

“Green and sustainability, nearshoring and reshoring, and the growth of online shopping will be the rising trends, and all those trends finding their perfect answer in digital printing and shorter, greener processes.”

EFI Reggiani will show its Terra printer, which is said to eliminate the need for steaming or washing on direct-to-textile applications using a greener, more-efficient polymerisation process that takes place as printed fabric goes through the machine's on-board dryer.

The company will also showcase the Bolt single-pass textiles printer, Iris sublimation ink, and the Mezzera Denim line, which uses patented Nitrogen Indigo technology to deliver greater sustainability in denim production.

Mimaki Europe said it aims to mirror the traditional trade show experience by enabling virtual show attendees to tour its booth, see its technology in action and speak to the team about its products and market trends.

The company will show its flagship TS55-1800 dye-sub printer and its Tx300P-1800 MkII hybrid printer.

“The Innovate Textile & Apparel Trade Show is an opportunity for Mimaki to further strengthen its position in the textile market, engage with our customers and share with, and learn from, the wider industry,” said Mimaki Europe senior marketing manager Danna Drion.

“We have a comprehensive portfolio spanning different technologies and we are keen to explain the benefits of these printers to help textile print service providers find the right technology for their business.

“In these challenging times, we also want to ensure that our customers and prospects fully understand the capabilities of our solutions and take advantage of the promotional offers at the show, so that they can confidently make their next investment and maximise their production line to remain profitable and competitive. This event will allow us to do exactly that and we look forward to the opportunity.”

Direct-to-garment printer manufacturer Polyprint, meanwhile, will be virtually exhibiting printers including its TexJet Shortee2 and TexJet Echo2 but said the highlight of its booth will be its new automatic pre-treatment machine, PreTreater Pro.

Launched in July, PreTreater Pro is said to offer high quality prints, consistency in repeated jobs and improved washability, while saving on liquids.

It features a 410x600mm true spray area, precision spraying capabilities with Linear and Grid edit modes, accurate liquid quantity selection per ml, four large diameter flat nozzles for uniform spraying, and an auto recirculation system for liquid homogeneity.

Finally, Kornit Digital will exhibit its portfolio of DTG systems, including Kornit Presto, which is targeted at the home décor market, as well as its new Kornit Softener, a dry digital softening process that is said to enable "photorealistic detail combined with handfeel".

The company will also highlight the fruits of its recent acquisition of Custom Gateway.
