PrintWeek's Top 500 2008 also saw Williams Lea Group leapfrog Chesapeake UK to second place with an impressive 24% rise in turnover.
Darryl Danielli, editor of PrintWeek, said: "Thanks to innovation or just plain strong leadership, many in the sector still make a healthy profit and will continue to do so whatever the economy throws at us."
The Top 500 also saw printers in the UK increase their profit margins for the first time in five years, and the number of companies with a margin of more than 15% increased to 20 from 17 last year.
This year's special edition of the Top 500 also contains a review of the year, an outlook for the print sector in 2009 and advice on how to raise funds to weather the economic storm.
