The PLC has been working with Microsoft for 25 years, and the fresh renewal extend the relationship until 2026.
De La Rue provides Microsoft with physical and digital brand protection technologies through its global supply chain. The products are used by Microsoft’s retail, Xbox and OEM channels through a dedicated licensing platform.
To tackle counterfeiters, techniques such as the use of secure labels enable Microsoft to track products around the world and maintain product integrity.
The fast-growing Authentication business is a key focus of De La Rue’s turnaround strategy, announced last summer.
The group has also grown its government revenue solutions business after winning new contracts for digital tax stamp schemes with “two Tier 1 countries”, which is a list of countries classified by the World Bank as among the world’s highest income nations.
De La Rue’s share price rose by 4.2% to 182.12p on the news.
The £426.7m turnover group will announce its full year results on 26 May.
