The business produces branded clothing, vehicle displays and wall graphics and wanted the 3.2m-wide to bring its previously superwide print work in-house as well as offering the option to work with recycled materials. The device was installed at the end of February.
“Sustainability is a big factor for our customers now, so when it comes to the big backdrops and large branding areas, we want to use recycled textile products from materials manufacturers like UFabrik,” said managing director Andrew McCabe.
A 3.2m-wide four-colour printer with a white ink option, the Vutek Pro 32r+ features 7pL UltraDrop Technology for high-definition print quality. It uses cool cure LED technology that reduces operating costs and allows for the use of thinner substrates, promoting a lower environmental footprint.
McCabe made the decision to invest in the new device last year after seeing it at a CMYUK open house event.
“When you invest in machinery there’s so much more to consider than just the hardware itself. It’s about the particular company you buy your printer from and the support and service it offers,” he stated.
McCabe said he was impressed with the speed and quality produced by the device and that colour accuracy was paramount.
“Blue-chip companies are very colour-orientated and have specific Pantones for their corporate identities. The Fiery RIP developed by EFI comes embedded within the printer and offers the clientele that we deal with the assurance that all colours can be matched. We’ve used Fiery in the past and trust its colour management capabilities completely,” he added.
McCabe said the Vutek plugged a gap that enabled the firm to deliver a full service in-house. “It’s the last piece of the puzzle, giving us total control over production for even better customer service, enhanced image quality, increased speed and exceptional colour reproduction on the most advanced eco materials currently available.”
