CTD follows move with 2.5m spend on workflow

CTD Printers is investing 2.5m in new equipment following its move to new premises earlier this year.

The report and accounts printer, based in Sunbury-on-Thames, has become the first UK firm to install a Heidelberg and Shuttleworth workflow link to combine its business with production.

Chairman and chief executive Leonard Wheatley said further investment was planned for the company next year.

At the same time the firm is looking to strengthen its sales and marketing team to increase sales from 8m to 10m over the next year. The move to the new site near Kempton Park racecourse included the installation of a Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 102-10P long perfector and ST100 six-station saddlestitcher with cover feeder.

The B1 10-colour perfector replaces a 16-year-old six-colour B1 perfector. The company has also installed ImageControl spectrophotometry that will work across its three presses, providing closed loop colour control.

Part of the investment included an upgrade to its PrintReady automated pre-press workflow and Data Control.
