It is particularly pleased that the ACP has proposed that the Environment Agency should ensure that adequate resources are allocated to monitoring. The ACP said that regulations should cover the Packaging Waste Recovery Note system too.
The CPI also hailed the call for a study to be undertaken by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs to establish the best system for kerbside collections of packaging waste.
The ACP has recommended that 80 more local councils each year should commit to integrated kerbside collections of separated waste.
