The selling spree at Communisis continues after the former John Mansfield Group waved goodbye to Waddington Jaycare and its Milton Keynes envelope business.

Jaycare managing director Keverne Watt led a management buyout of the 18m-turnover firm that makes rigid plastic packs
for healthcare, while Sweden's Bong Ljungdahl bought the 16m-turnover envelope firm.

Jaycare has three sites in North Shields and almost 200 staff. The management team had backing from 3i.

The company is a market leader in rigid plastics
for pharmaceuticals, and also makes packaging for vitamins and personal care markets.

A spokesman said no immediate changes were planned.
Communisis chief executive David Jones said: "Refocusing on information management and communications has meant a big
disposal programme of 10 firms."

Communisis has sold eight businesses for a total of 180m since it took over Waddington this year.

Still for sale are commercial printer Howitts and
the group's US healthcare packing operations, both due to be sold by the end of the year.

Communisis recently announced 6.8m profits
on a turnover of 78m (PrintWeek, 8 September). It bought Waddington and Rexam's UK print wing
earlier this year for 374m
in total.
