The EFI software has been combined with Gretag-Macbeths Spectrophotometer ES-1000 hardware, which is a hand-held scanner that measures the full visible spectrum of light reflected from colour samples to build profiles.
It can be integrated into any International Color Consortium (ICC) workflow, enabling custom colour creation of profiles with any ICC-supported CMYK digital printer within minutes.
It can also create spot-colour libraries using the Spectrophotometer as the input device, with EFIs Fiery Graphic Arts Package.
GretagMacbeth vice president of worldwide OEM sales Dr Iris Mangelschots said: "This brings us another step closer to establishing our technology as the standard for colour measurement."
