Colorbus proofing for colour consistency

Colorbus has released a colour-proofing software tool that promises colour consistency from monitor to print.

Proofsure works with any colour RIP to check hardcopies, using CMYK colourbars, and softcopies, using RGB swatches, against customised industry standards.

"This makes absolutely certain how the image is going to appear within its printed format," said Colorbus business developer Graham Page.

"It is unique in working with monitors in RGB. You can check the client has calibrated his monitor to the same standard, so you know you're viewing exactly the same thing."

The software tool prints a colour reference, created by the publisher, which then appears on every printed proof with a sample of the job's actual colour. Differences are flagged as Delta-E figures (the lower the number the closer to the standard), along with a "pass" or "fail".

Proofsure allows corporate colours to be verified and works with any colour printer and industry standard spectrophotometers. It is available now and costs 650.
