CMM snaps up Oc machine

Mail production company CMM has invested in an Oc 5160 digital printer as part of its plans to muscle into the transactional printing market.

The investment comes as part of a 500,000, six-month kit spend by CMM, which is based in London's Docklands. Alongside transactional print, the 5160 was also selected because of its capability for producing secure print.

"We now have the volumes to justify the spend and to bring transactional jobs in-house," said CMM director Martin Williams. "We went for the 5160 because of its compatibility with our other equipment."

He added that the next stage for the company will be to move into digital colour with the "added value" of variable data.

"Our plan is to have that in place within around six months," said Williams. "We want to create higher impact documents."
