The device, which cost the Farringdon-based firm around £150,000, is due to be installed at its 929sqm premises in the next few months, less than a year after the business installed its first S200 last summer.
The firm has been steadily building new high-margin revenue streams since installing the first S200. The second device will also enable Clicks to meet the demand that it expects to be generated by a new B2C print brand that it plans to launch later this year.
The Lumejet S200 is suitable for a variety of high-quality small-format applications including panoramas, professional portfolios, corporate publications, wedding albums, fine art, exhibition printing and personal publishing.
Clicks sales director Jamie Tedman said: “The Lumejet is a bit different and a more breathtaking technology to put in front of people. It will increase our diverse offering so that we can offer something a bit different to a standard digital printer.”
Managing director Alan Rigglesford added: “Its output complements our wide range of large- and small-format digital printers and allows us to offer a very full range of print services regardless of run length, quality and cost.
“Its unrivalled output quality also liberates design professionals from any concern about optimum output resolution for text or photographic images – it will effectively print anything."
Clicks also operates an EFI Vutek GS, two HP Indigos, a Fujifilm 1600 LED, two flatbed Inca Spyder Vs, two HP latex inkjets and five other HP inkjet devices and three Zünd cutters.
The firm has 40 staff and a turnover of £4.5m, which it plans to grow by around £1m over the next year.
It carries out large-scale installation work and produces items including POS, wallpaper, pitch documentation and photobooks for agencies and customers in the retail, property and events and exhibition sectors.
