Clearview Press acquired by CroftonMastrom

Large-format trade printer Clearview Press has been bought out of administration by medical and legal case note folder manufacturer CroftonMastrom, a deal that both companies expect to create a "better, faster more efficient service for all clients".

Clearview Press was acquired from the administrators, Kevin Murphy and Richard Toone, of London-based insolvency practioner Chantrey Vellacott, on 27 May. Following the deal, both companies will now operate under the name Crofton Clearview.

All 30 staff have been retained following the acquisition, including former Clearview Press directors John Vinten and Ian Cobbold, who will carry out similar roles at the enlarged company.

The newly expanded group plans to continue to support its client base and to work alongside them in what the company said is "a difficult time for the print industry".

It added that it would continue its current work in the point-of-sale arena while creating a more efficient service offering.

"We intend to offer a variety of new products to the NHS and much more flexibility and a reductions in prices," it added.

Crofton was established in 1954. Crofton acquired Mastrom in 2006 and became CroftonMastrom. Clearview Press was established in 2005 and had supplied CroftonMastrom for two years prior to the recent acquisition.

The company uses equipment that includes two Manroland 800 four-colour presses and a comprehensive range of in-house finishing.
