"On some jobs we've seen improvements more in the order of 400%," said general manager Steve Astins.
The firm has installed a Wohlenberg 92cm guillotine, Baumann Flowline and pile turner, all from MAN Roland GB, in a deal partly funded by through the National Assembly for Wales.
"The Assembly was very impressed with the health and safety focus on the handling system," said Astins. Two bespoke Baumann packing tables, were also part of the installation at the Haverford-west, Pembrokeshire firm.
Astins has calculated that the new set up has allowed the 2m turnover firm to get through up to four times as much cutting. "Perhaps this installation demonstrates that you don't have to be working in B1 sheets for materials handling kit to be cost effective," said Astins.
