Chesapeake installs Bobst as part of 45m worldwide spend

Packaging giant Chesapeake Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging has ordered a Bobst Expertcut 106 PER die-cutter as part of a 45m global investment.

The machine is to be installed at Chesapeake's Nottingham plant in late October.

Chesapeake is in the process of a major spend, which will also see a new press installed at Nottingham by the end of the year.

Communications manager Bob Houghton said: "This is one step in upgrading this plant; we can't confirm anything yet, but a new press will be installed later this year."

He added that the Tewkesbury plant, which prints pharmaceutical leaflets, would also see investment in the coming weeks.

Chesapeake chief executive Mike Cheetham said: "Installing the latest in Bobst die-cutter technology at Nottingham is a further step in the unmatched investment programme that we have undertaken over the past two years.

"Constantly investing in new-generation production equipment such as this ensures that we can continually strengthen the service levels we deliver to our customers."
