Cheltenham Print Finishers picks up work from failed rival

Finishing company Cheltenham Print Finishers (CPF) has moved into lamination following the closure of the local Celloglas business in Gloucester.

The Gloucestershire-based finisher has reported an increase in its other services since buying a new Mini 76 TH from Autobond.

Managing director Rick Nutter said he had heard speculation about the Gloucester Celloglas plant around six months ago: "We decided to make the investment there and then, and the machine went in about six weeks ago.

"We are really busy at the moment, and the laminator has brought in extra work in addition to extra creasing, gluing and folding jobs."

The company's turnover has reached £500,000 and Nutter, who started the business almost 15 years ago, said this is likely to increase now that the company offers lamination.

CPF employs 12 staff and handles local work, as well as South Wales, Herefordshire and Oxfordshire.

Celloglas went into administration at the beginning of the year, with the Gloucester site closing and its assets being sold to Global Graphic Equipment. Other sites were sold to various parties including five sites sold back to directors of the former company.
