Charity walk in memory of Stewart Bell

Bell: lust for life and ability to push himself out of his comfort zone

Family and friends of the late Stewart Bell are poised to begin a charity walk in his memory.

Bell worked in the industry for many years, and his career included roles at GBC, Litho Supplies, Mtex, New Solution Engineering and latterly HP’s wide-format team, where he was business development manager.

Bell was out riding his motorbike on Easter Sunday 2021 when he was hit and killed by a car driver who failed to see him when turning right across an A-road.

The driver subsequently pleaded guilty to causing his death by careless driving.

Bell’s wife Berni Raeside-Bell – also a well-known figure in the industry for her wide-format sector marketing expertise – is walking the National Forest Way over two days with four friends, including Jane Rixon, HP business development manager for signage and decoration, and her partner, and Bell’s close friend Trevor Beale and his partner.

The 45-mile walk is in aid of road safety charity Brake, which campaigns to end road deaths and injuries, and receives no government funding.

Raeside-Bell said Brake and her fellow walkers had been a huge support after the loss of her “wonderful, vivacious husband”.

“Stew’s lust for life and ability to push himself out of his comfort zone, is our inspiration so please, if you can, give generously to support this worthy charity, which relies solely on public donations and fundraising to offer free support to families,” she said.

The walk will take place on 10-11 September.
