The additional kit, which is in the process of being installed this week at the company’s Livingstone site in Scotland, complements its large existing fleet of BlueCrest technology across its sites in Livingstone and Radstock, near Bath.
The Mailstream Evolution is capable of handling complex and custom applications at speeds of up to 14,000cph.
CFH Docmail production director Steve Cray said: “The new system will enhance productivity and efficiency, allow better workload balance and boost our disaster recovery capability.”
BlueCrest UK & Ireland vice president Guido Rietti added: “BlueCrest is a longstanding strategic technology partner to CFH Docmail and we will continue to support their transition to new and innovative print and mail solutions, helping to optimise workflows to the benefit of their clients.”
In late 2018 CFH Docmail made its first investment in inkjet technology through a £3m, five-year contract with Canon to take on an Océ ColorStream 6000 Chroma continuous inkjet web press at its Radstock plant.
The business, which has a third production facility in Slough, recorded turnover of £54m in its most recently filed accounts at Companies House, for the year ended 31 March 2020.
