The 3.2m-wide flatbed and roll-fed UV press, which was installed at the Cheshire-based firm’s premises last week, will complement its two Agfa M-Press Tiger flatbed presses.
Marketing manager Emma Baker-Smith said: “This investment will allow us to take more work on, respond more quickly to our clients and it also gives us a bit more flexibility.”
The HS100 Pro has a top speed of 100 beds per hour and features a three-layer white print capability, greyscale printheads that offer 0-24pl droplet sizes and EFI’s 'Pin & Cure' technology for accurate ink laydown and gloss control.
The firm researched the market and looked at various alternatives from other companies but found that the HS100 Pro best fit its requirements.
“It’s an addition to our existing kit. We’ve had year-on-year growth every year for the past few years so we’ve made this investment as we’re getting more work in and more enquiries,” said Baker-Smith.
“We’ve shifted a few things around in our factory and had plenty of space for it. It’s all up and running already and the first jobs went through it last Friday (8 August).”
Cestrian Imaging has 87 staff and a turnover of £13m. It predominantly serves retail customers in the food and fashion sectors.
