Cloister Uniforms in Plymouth, which had worked with Century Litho in the past, commissioned a 50,000-run undersized A4 16pp brochure, but refused to pay for the job when it saw the end product.
Cloister Uniforms managing director Steven Maltby said: "We were told that the problem was down to our designer, but the proofs wed seen were fine.
"They came back to us and said that we should have press passed it, but we believe that they could have called us or just pulled the job."
The judge ruled in favour of Cloister Uniforms, saying that Century Litho ought to have notified the company when it saw there was a problem.
