Centurfax readies Sprint for Drupa launch

Centurfax is hoping Sprint, a new low-cost tool to calibrate ink-jet printers and proofers, will repeat the success it had with the CCDot dotmeter.

Although a detailed specification has not been issued, Centurfax sales director Martyn Elmy said that the tool could calibrate any device.

Sprint, which will be unveiled at Drupa, is aimed at small to medium sized firms.

"It will speed up the whole process and we hope that it will halve costs compared with similar products in the market," said Elmy.

The CCDot dotmeter was sold to US colour measurement specialist X-Rite for just under 1m (PrintWeek, 11 April, 2003).

"Lightning never strikes twice but we will be talking to anyone and everyone at Drupa. We expect a significant amount of interest," said Elmy.
