In order to handle the two-year contract, CDS has added a print and repro facility on campus, as well as outsourcing some work to its Belfast office at Heron Wharf.
According to CDS, the contract will simplify print buying for the university's staff, who will be able to request consultations for their printing needs. An on-site manager will analyse how best each requirement can be handled.
Tricia Massey, head of purchasing at Queen’s, said: "By consolidating the two printing contracts with one supplier, the university is not only simplifying print buying for staff, but is ensuring that value for money is achieved through the streamlining of processes and sourcing of the most competitive pricing for all print and print-related matter."
David Burton, CDS print and logistics director, said: "The contract will simplify print procurement, ensure best value and help the university to meet sustainability targets. We are using innovative online systems and improved working practices to achieve our aims."
