The annual Carols for Printers service takes place tomorrow, with attendees facing bad weather and travel disruption in order to attend.

The service at St Bride’s Church off Fleet Street in London is organised by the BPIF. It begins at 6pm on Tuesday 13 December.

Action by the RMT union is set to affect the rail network on 13 and 14 December, while weather warnings for snow and ice will also impact travel plans.

The service will feature St Bride's Choir and a selection of traditional and modern Christmas carols, along with a series of readings from the nativity by industry representatives.

St Bride’s has a long association with the printing and publishing industries stretching back more than 500 years. William Caxton’s apprentice Wynkyn de Worde set up London’s first commercial printing press in its churchyard in 1500.

The church was one of 51 churches to be rebuilt after the Great Fire of London in 1666, to a design by Sir Christopher Wren.

The Carols for Printers service returned to the St Bride's as an in-person event last year after going online in 2020 because of the pandemic.

Attendance is free although registration is requested. To register, email Heena Bulsara at the BPIF.
