Canon creates Professional Print division as part of restructure

Canon UK is aiming to increase its foothold in the professional print market after creating a dedicated Professional Print Channel division, which it expects to enhance its sales and support operation.

As part of the rejig, Canon has appointed Wayne Barlow in the role of Professional Print Channel director.

Professional Print, which was previously handled through Canon's SME and large corporate sales channels, has moved Ben Milford from his role as head of marketing to the position of sales manager for Commercial Print.

Milford is replaced by Trevor Dodsworth, who has been with the company since 1988.

Canon has claimed the new structure will offer improved sector support as well as streamlined account management for clients.

Barlow said the channel better reflects Canon's business growth and direction and provides "a specific focus" to design and marketing agencies, and to the commercial print market.

He said: "We have constructed a team of dedicated print professionals who have extensive experience in this arena. It reinforces our customer focus and will demonstrate extra benefits in terms of sales and after-sales service in the future."

Canon has also appointed Mike Budd as sales manager for Corporate Reprographic Departments, Richard Thomas as sales manager for Graphic Industries. Altan Fadil will continue to manage the professional print consultants.
