One of the plug-in’s new features is the ability to embed fonts into PDF files post-creation – overcoming the problem of missing or incorrect font characters.
PdfCorrect also allows users to redefine and save visibility layers in PDF files and flatten them to reduce unnecessary layers, cutting file sizes.
In total, the package can ‘find’ 60 different typical PDF errors that can cause printing problems. According to the firm, pdfCorrect “guarantees almost 100% security, even at the data creation stage”.
The update is compatible with Acrobat versions 6, 7, and 8. Existing users can download it free from www.callassoftware.com.
As well as the Acrobat plug-in version, Callas has also developed a “command line” version, CLI, which can be integrated into existing workflows.
