Call Print recently installed a B2 Ryobi 755 machine, which runs around the clock, so in order to ensure the bindery could offer the same service, the company has added a Horizon SPF-200A booklet production line and a Perfecta 92 HTVC guillotine.
Production manager Jason Larkin said: "Speed-wise it is tremendous and now we can complete all booklet work in-house, which saves us time and money in outsourcing costs.
"Previously we had to send the larger booklets out and so we were guided by the timeframes set by the companies we used.
"Now, if we need to run a job until 2am to meet a deadline we can. It is much faster, too. Jobs that were taking seven days to do can now be done in two."
The SPF-200A features fully automated set-up and fine tuning via an icon-based colour touchscreen. It was supplied with two VAC-Turbo 10-station PowerCollating towers, in-line fore-edge trimming, an extended delivery conveyor and a reverse delivery jogging receiving tray.
Call Print finishing kit investment leads to 24-hour production schedule
Nationwide print franchiser Call Print has moved to complete 24-hour production at its Birmingham plant, following an investment in booklet-making kit and a guillotine from Graphic Arts Equipment.
