The federation, which previously worked with brokers RK Harrison, undertook a full broker review through insurance benchmarking specialist idRisk.
As a result if the review, it has appointed Aston Lark as broker for BPIF Insurance Services.
“We chose Aston Lark for many reasons. Their drive and enthusiasm through the tendering process, their experience in the printing industry and their success with other affinity schemes, such as the motor trade,” said BPIF commercial products manager Steve Walker .
“They provided an excellent proposal and also have significant financial backing. They can also provide members with a one-stop shop for their insurance needs, not just commercial combined, this includes motor, trade credit, employee benefits and PI – in fact any insurance our members may need.”
Features include a premium discount for BPIF members, industry specific cover for claims including errors and omissions and breach of copyright, in-house print experts to offer easy to understand advice on products and cover, and expert in-house claims advisors.
According to the BPIF, the new offering includes access to Cyber AMI, which helps businesses achieve compliance with the government’s Cyber Essentials scheme free of charge and policyholders also have free access to DUAL DNA+ cover, which includes the Oliva DNA+ forensic coding solution to use on high-value items and significantly reduce theft excess charges and increase the chances of recovered items being returned.
Walker said Aston Lark offered the best possible composite insurance package for members with policy wording “the same or better than every other composite insurer in the market” which was also print specific rather than off the shelf.
“The first thing Aston Lark did was to take all of the print specific and commercial combined policy wordings, reviewed the coverage and identified where each insurer was offering a wider cover, they then ensured that policy coverage was increased to match or exceed other insurers.”
Aston Lark managing director Stuart Rootham added that his team was looking forward to supporting BPIF members.
“I hope that as many BPIF members as possible will support the new insurance scheme and give us the opportunity to demonstrate how we can improve their insurance protection and deliver competitive terms,” he said.
