The deal, which was effective from last month, will see the Hertfordshire-based business sell the entire PaperFox range, which comprises around 20 machines. The majority of these are available for demonstration at the firm’s Welwyn Garden City-based showroom.
Hungary-based PaperFox previously sold the machines direct into the UK. The manufacturer’s equipment portfolio includes die-cutters, kiss-cutters, round corner cutters, creasers and perforators and bespoke punching machines.
The devices, which are all aimed at on-demand short-run digital printing, range from around £400 to £2,000 in price. Litho companies have also made use of the PaperFox die-cutters to offer customers a finished proof prior to production.
“The PaperFox equipment has proved popular with digital printers as conventional die-cutting equipment such as platens or cylinders are large and heavy and require skilled minders to run them,” said Binding Store managing director Russell Cunningham.
“The PaperFox die-cutter can be easily set up in a few minutes with a much lower skill level needed.
“It’s really only for short-runs but if a litho printer wanted to proof a folder, they’re not going to set up a big Bobst or Heidelberg machine whereas with this you can just lock the die up and do a proof in a matter of minutes.”
Cunningham said the H500A rotary die-cutting machine, which is suitable for digital printers running SRA3, has proved to be the best-selling model so far.
“The dies used are totally conventional and Binding Store can get dies made in a very short timeframe,” said Cunningham.
Other models include the MP-1 paper punch, which comes with a Euro Slot punching tool, and the KB-32 paper punch and creaser, which is suitable for packaging and POS companies needing to crease and fold products prior to cutting a Euro Slot.
“PaperFox equipment is an easy and cost-effective entry into the market that gives printers the ability to keep work in-house and die-cut it without having to send it out to somebody with huge machinery,” said Cunningham.
Binding Store, which has five staff, became the sole UK distributor for Spanish manufacturer Tauler's range of thermal laminators last year.
The firm also sells new and used machines from a range of other manufacturers including Renz, Uchida, Rilecart, GBC and James Burn International.
