B&B Press installs two more Sakurai presses

B&B Press has installed two Sakurai presses, and is looking at further investment in digital technology.

The new presses, a 472+C four colour B2 machine with dedicated coater and IR drying, and a four-colour SRA2 466 SIP convertible perfector, were installed at B&B's south Yorkshire factory.

"It's a good partnership they are our largest UK customer," said Sakurai's UK branch operations manager Mark Jennings.

B&B's plant list now includes seven Sakurai presses, out of a total of 13.

Over the past year B&B spent over of 700,000 on new equipment. As well as the presses the firm also invested in finishing and pre-press with two guillotines, a folder, perfect binder and CTP.

B&B Press sales and marketing manager Derek Hurst said the investment in the new presses was part of the three-year company's development plan.

"This is part of that growth and we have serious commitment to developing and adding to our equipment," he said.

Further kit spend is also planned, which Hurst said would include digital presses.

Hurst said the company is looking at ISO 14001, having attained ISO 9001 - 2000 three years ago.

Formed in 1958 B&B Press employs 60 staff and has a turnover of just over 4m.
