The Hoddesdon-based repro house wanted to improve CTP quality and efficiency without using pricey plate materials.
The ability to produce Cromalin proofs on the system as well was seen as a good return on investment.
Birminghams A1 Paper & Stationery needed to handle many different plate sizes for stationery and security work. It wanted to continue using conventional plates and UV inks for long-run jobs and the BasysPrint allowed use of 12 different plate sizes.
The third sale through Flame, which was made UK distributor last August, was to Paramount Print.
The Manchester commercial colour printer expected cost savings, and aims to add a 10-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster.
Flame sold the BasysPrint to Preview Design via Mayday Graphics, and via SOS to Paramount Print. A1 Paper & Stationery bought its system directly from Flame.
The distributor recently made FC Imaging exclusive dealer in Ireland and sub-Saharan Africa. The Dublin office will have an 8pp BasysPrint UV-Setter 710.
