Athenaeum Press closes doors

Short-run book printer Athenaeum Press has closed its doors after going into administration earlier this month.

Gordon Goldie, of Tait Walker, was appointed as administrator to the Gateshead-based company on 11 January.

Around 30 staff at the £2m-turnover printer have been made redundant and the administrator is now hoping to sell the business's assets on an individual basis.

Tait Walker case manager Andy Little said interested parties should contact the firm.

It is not known why Athenaeum Press, which was located on the Theme Valley trading estate, fell into administration. However, the company's phone is now going unanswered and its website has been shut.
