Atech is celebrating its 40th anniversary this weekend and aims to continue its success with the launch of a raft of new products.

The print and finishing kit and consumables supplier began in a small office in London’s Soho on Friday 13 August 1982 by Allan Ashman. It started out as a servicing company to the photographic industry.

“Some may say Friday the 13th may not have been a very lucky start, but Atech has gone on to prove it’s not luck that makes a successful company, but hard work, dedication, and understanding customer requirements that has resulted in Atech becoming one of the industry’s leading suppliers of consumables, printing and finishing equipment, all backed with first class after sales support and training,” the company stated.

Atech moved to Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire after outgrowing its original building as its range of products and consumables grew.

Working in many industry sectors, ranging from signs and graphics, packaging, leather, technical composites, curtaining, and sun blinds, Atech represents suppliers including Plastgrommet, Elitron, Burkle, Matic, CWT, Neschen, Crest, Welte, Liyu, Roffelsen, Pongs, and Krea.

“Of course, none of this would have been possible without the amazing and continued support from our dedicated team of staff, loyal customers and trusted suppliers,” the business added.

Atech’s future plans include the launch of “a full range” of PVC-free and recyclable consumables later this year.
