It will use next month's show to unveil its Concentric Screening process, which divides dots of standard AM sizes into concentric rings.
In a statement, Artwork Systems in the US said that the technology would dramatically reduce dot gain because it "allows ink to gain into the dot as well as outside of it".
Development of the method came after research from the firm found that a range of benefits that were often linked to stochastic or FM screening were due to the dots' smaller size rather than their random distribution.
Artwork Systems has claimed that the new screening method will allow printers to double AM line screens without the usual dot gain problems.
Concentric Screening will be launched as one of a range of screening options in a major new version of Artwork Systems' Nexus workflow, which will launch at the show.
Artwork Systems was unavailable for further comment, and it is unclear when the technology will be launched in the UK.
The firm has revealed, though, that the focus of its stand at Digital Print World, to take place at Earls Court in October, will be its Odystar PDF workflow.
