Arjo Wiggins Fine Papers has confirmed it is to close its Covent Garden-based Paperpoint samples outlet, with the loss of three jobs (PrintWeek, 4 May).
In its place a virtual 24-hour paperpoint store at www.paperpoint.com will be up and running from
4 June, backed by a team of advisers providing a helpline for designers.
A member of the Paperpoint sales team at the London store said Arjo had informed staff last week that the shop was to close on 1 June due to ground rent rises, which the company said had almost doubled.
The new online service will offer same-day despatch of samples and swatches, with advisors on the helpline (01258 728900) from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
