Arc Colourprint buys Wohlenberg 92 to cut mistakes and speed up

A digital and B2 printer in Edinburgh has invested in a new Wohlenberg 92 guillotine, replacing a 20-year-old machine.

Arc Colourprint purchased the cutter from MAN Roland GB to speed up its job turnarounds and reduce mistakes.

Arc Colourprint director Ian Moncur said: “Our previous guillotine had served us well, but at 20 years of age, it was time for a change.

“You need to be happy with all your equipment and be sure it isn’t going to let you down. Our old machine was beginning to show its age.”

“The product is half the size of our previous guillotine, simple to operate, and the computer-controlled operation provides for highly flexible and fast cutting.”

The investment marks the first spend by the company since it moved to new premises and bought a brand new five-colour B2 MAN Roland press two years ago.

Arc Colourprint was created four years ago when Portobello Printers and AKA Reprographics merged.

The company currently turns over £1.5m a year and employs 18 staff.
