Aquatint BSC relocates to Bermondsey

London-based print and design firm Aquatint BSC has relocated its print operation from Wimbledon to Bermondsey to reduce its overheads and move closer to its customers.

The company made the move from 48 Weir Road, Wimbledon to similar sized premises at 6-8 Verney Road, Bermondsey last Friday (8 August).

“We were made an offer we couldn’t refuse for our premises in Wimbledon, which has enabled us to get rid of an awful lot of debt, and moving forward we’re essentially debt free,” said founder Roger Severn.

“It also moves us closer to our customer base and to areas that we want to move into, such as financial markets.”

The company will share its new premises with commercial print and communications firm SPM Print, which currently occupies the site. It will save on costs by splitting its overheads with SPM.

“The move has all come about quite quickly. We got approached in April or May and we thought 'let’s go for it' and move in the summer while it’s quieter,” said Severn.

The firm also runs a studio in Battersea, which it will retain for its digital artwork, website design and marketing services.

Aquatint BSC has 24 staff and a turnover of £2.5m. It offers a range of digital print services to predominantly end-users with clients including the Royal Mail, Picture House, the Royal Academy of Dance and The Big Yellow Self Storage Company.
