Apex issues 'power challenge' to other pressmakers

Apex Digital Graphics has focused on press power consumption at its latest open house.

The two-day event, which concludes today (2 April) is running under the 'Solutions for Profit - Workshop 4' banner and is concentrated on the energy savings offered on its range of Ryobi presses.

The UK distributor has hooked up a range of presses to a PC with sensing equipment, which demonstrates the energy consumption of the Ryobi presses throughout the printing process.

"The electricity bill is a major factor in any print company's expenditure. The Ryobi range has many positive things to contribute on the topic of power consumption, and we will use this event to visually demonstrate this to visitors," said Bob Usher, joint managing director of Apex Digital Graphics.

He added: "We believe that many printers are paying far too much to run their machines. We are urging them to take up the 'Apex Power Challenge' to not only save themselves money during the lifetime of a press, but also make an important 'green' statement to their customers."

Apex is also using the event to showcase a range of ECRM and Screen CTP equipment as well as digital print technology from Danwood and Konica Minolta.

A selection of finishing equipment from Morgana in addition to Tharstern MIS and EFI workflow software was also on show.

Bernard Parker, joint managing director of Apex, said: "By opening our doors to a wide range of fellow suppliers we believe that we can offer our customers and prospects an event that is even more relevant to their businesses."

Fujifilm, Sharp, Technotrans, Baldwin, Sun Chemical, PCO, Creo, DirectSmile, IDS and Eltosch were also present at the event.
