The Corby-based finisher won a contract to print the magazine for a major supermarket, but it required cross-strapping.
Although APF could do cross-strapping, either by hand or by putting work through a single strapper twice, it was not suitable for longer runs.
Co-director Mel Picker said: "We won a contract and needed to invest in the cross strapper, but having it has made life a lot easier for us."
The machine cross-straps at speeds up to 16 bundles per minute and incorporates Mosca’s airless, all-electric technology, which eliminates the need for compressed air.
The airless system is an extension of Mosca’s brushless motors, direct drive technology, which removes the need for a large number of mechanical components.
Six-staff APF provides magazine finishing for the majority of the industry’s key players and its latest Mosca follows the install of two RO-TRP machines in 2008.
Co-director Dave Clark said: "Throughout our association with Mosca, we’ve found their equipment to be exceptional in performance and reliability, while the service and support from Mosca has been second to none."
