The Coala Silky Wallcover and Coala Magnetics range became available last week and three weeks ago respectively, and are distributed via Antalis’ UK sales channels.
Intended for interior decoration, the Silky Wallcover textile is a self-adhesive, wallcover fabric, which Antalis said has a specially designed adhesive that has been designed to allow for damage-free removal and repositioning. It has a blockout layer, which ensures graphics do not show through the textile and also enables it to cover difficult-to-remove graphics.
Antalis Visual Communications head of channel Chris Green said: “The actual requirement now for interior decoration products is good, we’ve seen a big move in that market.
“We already have certain products in the market – wallpapers that fit a certain niche – but what we found is that people are looking for products that they can rebrand surfaces with. The beauty of this is in the adhesive in that you can apply, remove, reposition or reuse."
Silky Wallcover is available in three different roll widths, 1.1m, 1.4m and 1.5m, all at 30m roll length and weighing 170gsm.
Intended for promotional applications, the Coala Magnetics range comprises the Coala Magnetic Base self-adhesive film, Coala Ferro film and Coala Printable Magnetic PVC.
“Once again this is all about easy application,” said Green.
“A lot of people are looking to change the branding or change some sort of directional information quickly but getting professional applicators is quite expensive and using products where you can get things to a supermarket for a one week offer or a betting shop for promotion is about going down that quick-change, easy-apply route.”
Antalis’ solution combines the magnetic adhesive base with the printable ferrous film, allowing a permanent magnetic wall to be created that can also be updated with seasonal promotions. The adhesive base and ferrous films are purchased together, while the Printable Magnetic PVC is sold separately, available in a wide variety of thicknesses and suitable for applying to any metal object.
Antalis also announced the launch of its new PowerCoat Alive creative papers, which use near-field communications (NFC) technology to enable smartphone recognition when hovering over a graphic containing an NFC tag. The PowerCoat sheets comprise three layers, two conventional creative papers between one layer of PowerCoat Alive.
“We’re extremely excited to bring this innovative technology into the printed materials market,” said Antalis channel director for print James Jarvis.
It’s been a busy year for Antalis product launches, with its new E-Photo range, roll storage unit plus various additions to its sign and display range all coming to market in the last six months.
