Agfa unveils new flatplan tool for Apogee Media 6

Agfa Graphics has announced the launch of version six of its Apogee Media content management and editorial creative software package.

The latest version of Agfa's internet-based software package, which combines digital asset management with an XML-driven editorial workflow platform, features a new interactive flatplan.

The flatplan allows users to drag and drop pages and click through to other modules in the workflow, meaning there is greater control over content and layout.

In addition, Apogee Media 6 includes a graphical dashboard, with access to a range of features, including page annotation, image cropping, pre-flighting, soft proofing and reporting.

Agfa said this would reduce publication time "as editors can remotely track progress at a glance and guide content creators to deliver on spec, on budget and on time".

Olivier Van der Stede, operations manager at Belgian contract publisher Decom, said: "Apogee Media brings editorial teams and stakeholders together in a seamless environment giving users complete control of publication content and execution."
